Eid

Eid at Markazi Jami Masjid Bilal

Eid is a celebration that takes place twice in the Islamic calendar. The first, Eid-ul-Fitr, marks the end of the blessed month of Ramadan. The second, Eid-ul-Adha, occurs at the conclusion of the Hajj season. Both occasions are moments of joy, gratitude, and togetherness for the entire Muslim community.

At Leeds Markazi Jami Masjid Bilal, Eid has always been a major event. It is a time when our whole community comes together to celebrate, reconnect, and enjoy the blessings of these special days. Every year, we organise a large Eid party filled with activities, food, and fun for families and individuals of all ages.

In recent years, we have also partnered with other local mosques across Leeds to create a city-wide celebration known as the Leeds Eid Gala. This communal event brings together Muslims from all over the city, strengthening unity and fostering a sense of belonging. One of the most cherished aspects of the Leeds Eid Gala is that it is organised and managed entirely by the community — a true example of teamwork, volunteer spirit, and shared joy.
